With the Douglas County Fair in full swing, it might be easy to flip the calendar page and not realize that our first Tuesday meeting is actually on August 1st! So here’s your reminder to come…and here’s your reason: You’ll meet all of the current and new officers for the 2023-2024 year. Put names with faces. Know who to call for what. Celebrate the beginning of another year packed with learning, sewing and other fun. To make the night even more special, we are having a BATIK EXCHANGE & CHALLENGE!

With the county fair behind us and the promise of fall in front of us, our September meeting will showcase business woman, quilter and blogger Sherri Fields. Sherri’s blog - sherriquiltsalot.com -is a treasure trove of information, from quilt tips and tricks to (her favorite) quilt history. And that is what she brings us via zoom: a fascinating look at the history of quilt shows. Before and after the program, please mill about the room to take in all of the fine member quilts that were entered in this year’s fair. A walkabout, we call it. Be sure to congratulate all of the entrants — and join them next year with a quilt of your own!
