In the state of Colorado, more than 20,000 adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities live with caregivers who are over the age of 60. Recognizing the need for supported independent living, Wellspring, in collaboration with Douglas County, purchased and has renovated the former La Quinta Inn on Wolfensberger Road to begin to meet this need. Twenty adult attendees of Wellspring’s day program will have throw quilts from CRQC ready to welcome them when they move into their first-ever apartments. We are so excited to be part of this important venture!
The WOW factor was through the roof when club members gave previews of completed Wellspring quilt tops at meetings. What began as fabric bingo cards for our April 2024 activity turned into some of the most beautiful works of art — and HEART! Thank you, everyone, for your time, attention and love sewn into every stitch of these beauties.
