Bring 1 YARD KONA SOLID in August

Please bring one yard of Kona cotton in any solid color (other than black or white) to the August meeting!! We will be repeating last year’s snip, rip, drop and pass activity in which you will leave with SEVEN colors and a challenge. This year, our challenge is to make a wearable – very loosely defined with a fashion show at our November meeting. Learn more…

Wellspring Quilt Project

What began as fabric bingo cards for our April activity has turned into some of the most beautiful works of art — and heart! About a third of our tops for the Wellspring Quilt Project are completed. If you are making but NOT quilting your own top, please contact Carol Shuford with your estimated finish date. Please aim to be done BEFORE our August meeting. Craft a Little Christmas

Do you have a go-to Christmas gift you like to sew for family and friends? Would you be willing and able to give a small 10 to 15 minute demonstration at our October 1st meeting? Please let Peg Roen know ASAP. We’d like a variety of ideas, but please don’t be offended if we can’t use all of them given our limited amount of time. (We will absolutely save them for next year!)

Christmas Countdown

Have yourself a wonky little Christmas; may your blocks be bright! We celebrated Christmas in July with the introduction of improv Christmas tree block lotto. Let’s celebrate again in October when CRQC members lead gift-making demos! You’ll leave with a folder of instructions, and if your name is drawn, a pile of improv blocks for a modern holiday quilt. Congratulations, Carol!

Carol Netwal is the winner of our panel challenge drawing! We had 12 beautiful entries, even a 3D panel that you could view with special glasses! Who knew?! Carol received a basket of quilty goodness, which included fabric and a pattern, specialty ruler, scissors charm, enamel maker’s pin, bookmark and more. Congratulations!

Quilts in the Wild

Have you snapped a photo of your quilt outdoors yet? Whether on vacation or staycation, CRQC wants to see your quilt (any of them) out “in the wild!” For inspiration, type #quiltsinthewild into Instagram and see what populates. It’s a thing! Don’t have Instagram? Find someone who does and have them show it to you — you’ll be stunned. Email your photo to Peg Roen before our September meeting for a slide show and a chance to be the feature photo for a month on our website.
