Easy Piecing in November

At our November 5th program, learn how to use EasyPiecing grids to make perfectly matched seams! Carmen Geddes of  TenSisters Handiwork will show us her various quilts using this method, many of them found in her books and patterns. Note that BEFORE our meeting, Carmen is holding a workshop at Sew-ciety from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm (also on 11/5), featuring two table runners and this adorable scrappy Christmas tree. You choose which you’d like to make.

Also, DON’T FORGET: Bring your November challenge item – a wearable (very loosely defined) from the 7 solids you received at the fun snip and rip activity during our August meeting.

Block Lotto is Back in 2025!

Well, THAT was fun! Thank you so much to the participants in last month’s Wonky Christmas Tree Block Lotto. With such an unbelievable number of blocks, we were able to put together sets of 20 blocks for EIGHT lucky winners! There was even a bonus set of 13 to give away as well. What a great way to play with improvisation! In 2025, you can forward to learning (or brushing up on) more skills via Block Lotto. Every other month or so, we will pick a block, pick a color palette, and provide print and video instructions. Join the fun! The next round will be announced in January!

Charity Committee Volunteers Needed!

The charity committee has collected 21 Bingo quilts for Wellspring and 17 quilts
for the Help & Hope Center. What a huge success for both of these projects! And we will continue to collect donations for next year as well. So keep up the good work!
We need several club members to volunteer to participate in this important committee. Please contact our president if you are interested.

Wellspring Quilt Project

What began as fabric bingo cards for our April activity has turned into the most beautiful works of art — and heart! Thanks to the hard work of volunteers, 21 adults who attend Wellspring Community will receive quilts on November 1 at the ribbon cutting ceremony for Unity on Park, a supported independent living apartment complex.
