June Sew-In

Our next Sew-In is June 28!  The sew-ins are an opportunity to spend a pleasant day at the home of a CRQC member, just sewing (ahhhh).  You need to sign up to attend a sew-in, so the hostess will know how many people are attending.  In March, we had three locations with 4-6 people at each location.  Currently we need one more volunteer to host – maybe you?  Be prepared to sign up for the sew-in at our meeting this month.

Help us out!

We have a fun patriotic make-n-take for our July ice cream “sewcial” at the park, but we need your help for it to be successful! Please bring with you, to our meeting next week, scraps (or better yet a whole spool) of any width red or white/ivory ribbon, red or white/ivory trim, white or ivory lace, even red or white/ivory thin strips of fabric! We will cut lengths from this to suit our project. The more we have, the bigger our project! Can. Not. Wait.

Jelly Strip Block Lotto

For this month’s block lotto, we are using Jelly Roll strips! This block gives us plenty of practice nesting seams. Instructions can be found online at Cluck Cluck Sew or on our website here.

Bring up to 10 completed blocks to the June meeting. (Each one earns you one entry into the lottery.) If your name is drawn, you win enough blocks for a small quilt/wall hanging (or perhaps a large one if you sew blocks for yourself as you create blocks for the lotto). No excuses, ladies – you can easily make a few of these simple blocks in an hour.!  Learn more …
