For this month’s block lotto, we are using Jelly Roll strips! This block gives us plenty of practice nesting seams. Instructions can be found online at Cluck Cluck Sew or on our website here.
Bring up to 10 completed blocks to the June meeting. (Each one earns you one entry into the lottery.) If your name is drawn, you win enough blocks for a small quilt/wall hanging (or perhaps a large one if you sew blocks for yourself as you create blocks for the lotto). Cleaning out your sewing room? Just remember, one quilter’s trash is another’s treasure! So save a few items for our May auction, complete with live auctioneer, and help us raise funds for future programs and activities while picking up a few great things for yourself!
Our handwork group, which has been meeting on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month, has decided to take a break until road construction in the area is complete and better weather returns. Stay tuned — we will let you know when meetings begin again!
On November 12th, the Castle Rock Quilt Club Charity Quilt Committee donated 18 children’s quilts and 8 receiving blankets to Liz, Tamara and Carrie of the Help and Hope Center for their Families Holiday Shop. The Help and Hope Center supports Douglas and Elbert County residents navigate troublesome times with dignity.
This year, we are going to exchange Charm Packs at the Christmas Party. If you are attending, join the fun and wrap up a charm pack!
