Good Solid Fun in August!
August 6 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Meet your new Castle Rock Quilt Club officers at our Tuesday, August 6, meeting at New Hope Presbyterian Church. After officer presentations, we will revisit a favorite activity from last year — the infamous “Snip, Rip, Drop and Pass.” Instead of batiks, the program committee requests that you bring ONE YARD of any color KONA SOLID. You’ll leave with 7 colors of differing sizes to either build your own solids stash – OR – to join a 3-month challenge to create a wearable using some of your colorful haul.
It can be an article of clothing, belt, hat, jacket, apron, scarf, bag, sewing chatelaine, a purse or bag (yeah, you wear it), something for a baby or child, part of a costume (like your own butterfly wings?) — whatever you can think up. The challenge is not obligatory; it’s just a fun extra for those interested. In November, we’ll have a unique “fashion” show and tell… and an amazing prize drawing, of course!
