DESCRIPTION:We started the New Year (by Zoom) with a million dollar idea from Pat Speth of Nickel Quilts. Stop merely collecting those 5-inch charms\, and start using them to make incredible quilts! Pat showed us how to make various cuts to four patches and half-square triangles and then rearrange them into designs from her patterns and books. So. Much. Fun. (This works with layer cakes\, too.) SUMMARY:Winter 2026 Quilt Retreat
DESCRIPTION:The CRQC Winter Quilt Retreat will be February 19th– 22nd\, 2026\, Thursday thru Sunday at the Holiday Inn & Suites.  Their address is 6638 S Nome St\, Centennial\, CO 80111.  Arrival time is 2:00 pm or later\, on Thursday and departing time is 4:00 pm on Sunday.  Minimum attendees are 28\, maximum is 32. \nThe cost for 3 nights double occupancy with 2 dinners is $295 per person (2 queen beds); with only 1 dinner cost is $255.  The cost for 3 nights single king is $480; with only 1 dinner cost is $440.  Dinners will be on Friday and Saturday.  Breakfast is included with each overnight stay.  Costs also include ballroom rental\, service charges and taxes.  If you choose to have only one dinner\, you will be able to choose between Friday or Saturday. \nThere will be no dinner on Thursday nor any lunches.  The hotel has a restaurant and bar and is usually open for all meals EXCEPT lunches on the weekends.  Each guest room has a microwave\, mini-fridge and Keurig coffee maker.  There are several fast food and other restaurants in the area. \nThe retreat is currently full. We need a minimum of three (and possibly 5) members for this committee. The nominating committee meets\, determines candidates\, and presents a slate of candidates at the July meeting. The slate is voted on at the August general meeting. If you are interested\, please self-nominate. It would be great if members who have held offices that are up for election (this year it’s President\, Program Director/VP\, and Membership) would serve on the committee so they can answer questions about the office.

The inn is located at 3805 Walker Rd\, Colorado Springs\, CO 80908. \nThe cost of the retreat is $465 per person for a double room\, $665 per person for a single room\, or $395 per person for a triple room. This includes three breakfasts\, three dinners\, meeting room rental\, lodging\, and tax. Lunch is not included\, but Monument is just 6 miles away\, and people usually bring plenty of snacks to share.
