 Quilt Show!

LEARN ABOUT QUILTING
The purpose of the quilt show is to contribute to the Castle Rock community’s knowledge and appreciation of the art of quilting by displaying quilted items for public viewing and to encourage and inspire quilt making.

MORE THAN 100 QUILTED ITEMS WILL BE ON DISPLAY
Area quilters will display a variety of quilted items that will include large bed-sized quilts, lap quilts, wall hangings, quilted art, and wearables.

QUILTING DEMONSTRATIONS by CASTLE ROCK QUILT CLUB MEMBERS

* Paper-Piecing – Carolyn McCormick has made paper piecing easy! She is the author of four quilting books and is the creator of the “Add-A-Quarter” and “Add-Enough” paper piecing tools.

Carolyn’s books include:
* Carolyn’s Paper-Pieced Garden
* Hard Times, Splendid Quilts – A 1930’s Celebration
* No-Stress Paper Piecing - 13 Projects Using Flannel or Cotton
* Quilts for Rosie – Paper Piecing Patterns from the ‘40s

Carolyn will demonstrate her methods and products on Friday, and Carol Netwall will be demonstrating on Saturday.

* Hand Quilting – Handwork is alive and well!

Two very accomplished quilters will be demonstrating two types of handwork. Friday and Saturday morning Ginny Rafferty will demonstrate hand quilting, and in the afternoons, Janet Morrison will demonstrate hand turned appliqué.

* Fun and Done – Ever wish your quilt were finished when the top was finished?

Well it can be! Friday and Saturday the Sew-Ciety Quilt Shop will demonstrate a technique where you quilt each block as it is pieced. When the completed blocks are assembled the quilting is done!

A Harvest of Quilts is cosponsored by the
Castle Rock Quilt Club and Douglas County Libraries.
