There were 27 ladies that braved the snow and cold to get to the Feb. meeting! We viewed parts of the PSB documentary about "Why Quilts Matter".
We discussed an opportunity to have our Charity Quilt displayed at the Firehouse Quilt Show that will be here in Castle Rock at the Events Center in July. Connie gave an update on the Charity Quilt and it should be able to be displayed at the show. We also have the opportunity to have a booth to sell things our members make to raise money for our club. Items suggested to sell were 12" blocks, small nature art quilts, table runners, place mats, holiday ornaments. Start planning and making small quilting projects to donate to this sale to help keep our monthly dues from going up! Volunteers will be needed to organize this project so let Gail or Mary Beth know if you can help.
Judith Stewart gave a report on the progress of the bi-annual Quilt Show. She has gotten plans rolling and will have sign up sheet for volunteers at the March meeting. Be to do your part to make this Show successful!
Our April meeting will be a Quilted Style Show! If you have 1 or several wearable quilted items or bags or misc. let Mary Beth know with a detailed discription or the item or items such as pattern name, fabrics used, special techniques, etc.
And last but not least, our July 3 meeting will be a "Charity Sew In". Everyone will bring 25 2-1/2" x WOF strips from your stash. They will be put in a stack and everyone will pick 25 new strips to sew together for a scrappy strip quilt! Everyone will BYOS (Bring Your Own Snack) to share. Start going thru your stash now!!
OUR MEMBERS ARE SO TALENTED!!
